Includes unlimited streaming via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

As you maybe already noticed, there is no physical release right now. For an independant musician, it is almost impossible to calculate things financially. But depending on the sales, a physical option is not gone forever.

If there is a release in the future, I would give everyone who orders the digital album a coupon code of the amount, you already spent. So you just have to pay the difference from that to the price of the tape/cd/vinyl/whatever. Shipping is excluded.

about

Ever heard of number stations? Since their beginnings around WWI, they were predominantly used for sending encrypted messages. Very few are still operating. Before they are all gone and forgotten, it is time to put them into an appropiate musical context, spanning over a complete album. (Which might be the very first time at all…)

Various broadcasts were recorded online in spring 2022 from shortwave transceivers all over the world, like Europe, North America or South East Asia. The transmissions are embedded in different layers of synthesizer sounds and samples, that complement or create a contrast to the repetitive number sequences. Every track on the album features a different number station, resulting in different vibes. The music is as intense and captivating, as it is ignorable, perfect for creating a sonical ambient. It is up to the listener to listen carefully or to just let it roll.

Jörg von der Fecht, writing music for over three decades, with three albums released by his prog metal band Bleeding under his belt, is the driving force, cat entertainer and coffee maker behind TANNHEUSER. „While being in the metal scene playing guitar for quite a while, I never forgot my first real socialization with music, which began in the late 70‘s, early 80‘s. I was fascinated by the sounds you could make from synthesizers, based on nothing more than simple functions and waveforms. Which of course I only learned later. These sounds were brought to life by Kraftwerk, Jean Michelle Jarre or Depeche Mode. But even before that socialization, I loved to listen to exotic radio stations. The further away, the better. I was captivated by the thought that, in the most extreme case, these waves could originate on the other side of the planet. But music or voices weren’t the only things I listened to. The noise of dialing and switching between the stations, the blips and clicks seem to have their own pulse and melody. Which led me to being a passionate listener to shortwave radio. With number stations being a part of it...“
